Chongqing Fuling Qiaonan Economic and Technological Development Zone (Chongqing Fuling Qiaonan ETDZ) rated “B” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. The ETDZ was approved and established by the Sichuan provincial government in 1993 and is now one of Chongqing’s municipal-level development zones.

Fuling District, the home district of Chongqing Fuling Qiaonan ETDZ, is located in the middle of Chongqing and at the conjunction of the Yangtze River and the Wu River. Chongqing Fuling Qiaonan ETDZ is situated in the western part of Fuling District, approximately 80 km from both Chongqing’s downtown area and Jiangbei International Airport, which ranked tenth in terms of passenger throughput (11.1 million persons) in China on 2008. State Highway 319 runs through the zone from east to west. Fuling Deep water Port, with 114 docks, 160 berths and an annual handling capacity of 200,000 standard containers (350,000 standard containers in 2011), is convenience to the zone’s enterprises.

Chongqing Fuling Qiaonan ETDZ’s pillar industries include building materials, food processing and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the development of the tertiary industries such as finance, commerce, real estate and tourism is also encouraged.

Industrial parks rated B are viewed as poorly established. Much effort is necessary for the creation of an attractive investment environment in these parks. There are 45 with ‘B’ rating among the 254 national or municipal-level industrial parks located across the country.
