Chongqing Huaxi Industrial Park

Chongqing Huaxi Industrial Park (Chongqing Huaxi IP) rated “BB” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. The industrial park was approved and established by the Chongqing municipal government in 2002 as a municipal-level development park.
The industrial park is located in Huaxi Town in Banan District. It has a convenient transportation system. It is 12 km from Chongqing’s downtown area, 11 km from Chongqing Railway Station and 30 km from Jiangbei International Airport, which ranked tenth in terms of passenger throughput in China in 2008. Additionally, Chaotianmen Dock and Jiulong Port are 13 km and 5 km from Chongqing Huaxi IP, respectively.
Over 40 enterprises with a total contractual investment of RMB 3.3 billion have been established in Chongqing Huaxi IP. Automobiles, motorcycle and machinery parts manufacturing, equipment manufacturing and textiles and garments are Chongqing Huaxi
Currently, Chongqing Huaxi IP has four subsidiary areas: Zongshen Industrial Park, Xianfeng Manufacturing Area, Jianshe Industrial Park and Qilong Apparel Production and Processing Base. Zongshen Industrial Park, which has a land area of approximately 0.9 sq km, was founded by Zongshen Industrial Group, which engages mainly in manufacturing motorcycles, speedboats and assorted power equipment.
The second subsidiary area, Xianfeng Manufacturing Area, has a land area of 1.0 sq km. Many automobile, motorcycle and machinery part manufacturing enterprises have set up businesses in this area. They include Kangchao Group, Guangyu Motorcycle Manufacturing, Chuanyu Jinggong Machinery Development and Chicheng Machine Manufacture.
The third subsidiary area, Jianshe Industrial Park, was founded by Jianshe Industries Group is one of the top 500 enterprises in China. Jianshe Industrial Park is principally engaged in motorcycle manufacturing and automotive components.
The fourth area, Qilong Apparel Production and Processing Base, has a land area of 1.4 sq km and mainly does business with garment entrepreneurs in Chaotianmen, an important commercial area of Chongqing.
In 2009, the industrial park’s gross industrial output reached RMB23.66 billion, increased by 36%, while the value-added industrial output hit RMB 7.84 billion, up by 64% over the previous year. Industrial parks rated BB are considered attractive at a below-average level. Industrial parks with this rating are typically either in the development stage or are lacking certain important elements. There are 50 with BB rating among 254 national and municipal level industrial parks.
