China Knowledge Press, June 2011, Pages: 25
Chongqing Kaixian Industrial Park (Chongqing Kaixian IP) rated “B” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. The industrial park was approved and established by the Chongqing municipal government in 2003 as a municipal-level development park.
The park has two subsidiary zones, namely, Chongqing Kaixian IP: A Zone and Chongqing Kaixian IP: B Zone. Kaixian County, the home county of Chongqing Kaixian IP, is located in the northeastern part of Chongqing, 330 km from Chongqing’s downtown and 77 km from Wanzhou County. Kaixian’s transportation mainly relies on waterways and highways. The county is situated in the middle-upper reaches of the Xiao River. There are four river docks in the county: Hanfeng, Houba, Qukou and Puxi. The Kaixian-Wanzhou Freeway connects Kaixian County with Wanzhou Regional Airport and Wanzhou Port, which has an annual throughput of 1 million standard containers.
Chongqing Kaixian IP’s pillar industries are machinery, energy, agricultural products processing, building materials and fine chemicals. By the end of 2010, over 20 enterprises had settled in the park. Representative enterprises include Chongqing Specialstar Suit Door, Chongqing Baihe Electric Power, Summi (Fujian) Food, Foshan Newmay Ceramic and Changlong Industry.
According to its development plans, Chongqing Kaixian IP is expected to realize an industrial output of RMB 20 billion in 2012.
Industrial parks rated B are viewed as poorly established. Much effort is necessary for the creation of an attractive investment environment in these parks. There are 45 with ‘B’ rating among the 254 national or municipal-level industrial parks located across the country.
