Chongqing Liangping Industrial Park
China Knowledge Press, June 2011, Pages: 25
Chongqing Liangping Industrial Park (Chongqing Liangping IP) rated “B” by China Knowledge in a research report on China’s industrial real estate published today. The industrial park was approved and established by the Chongqing municipal government in 2003 as a municipal-level development park.
The industrial park has two subsidiary zones, namely, Chongqing Liangping IP: A Zone, which has an area of 9.1 sq km, and Chongqing Liangping IP: B Zone, which has an area of 5 sq km.
Liangping County, the home county of Chongqing Liangping IP, is located in the northeastern part of Chongqing 180 km from Chongqing’s downtown. It is approximately 70 km from both Wanzhou Regional Airport and Wanzhou Port, which has an annual throughput of 1 million standard containers. The Dazhou-Wanzhou Railway, the Chongqing-Wanzhou Freeway and State Highway 318 traverse the county from east to west.
Chongqing Liangping IP’s pillar industries are electronic machinery, textiles, fine chemicals, food processing and building materials. By the end of 2010, over 40 enterprises had settled in the park.
Representative enterprises include Chongqing Hongchuan Machinery Manufacture, Liangping Hongmeida Silk Textile Products, Chongqing Guanmeiting Ceramic, Dahe Zhang Duck Foodstuff and Liangping Longqiang Building Material. Additionally, Chongqing Specialstar Suit Door, a leading non-wood decorative door manufacturer in China, invested RMB 300 million in Chongqing Liangping IP for the purpose of launching the country’s largest bamboo door manufacturing base in April 2008.
According to the program’s development plan, it is expected to realize an annual industrial output of 2 million bamboo doors worth RMB 1 billion upon completion in 2011.
Industrial parks rated B are viewed as poorly established. Much effort is necessary for the creation of an attractive investment environment in these parks. There are 45 with ‘B’ rating among the 254 national or municipal-level industrial parks located across the country.
