China Magnetic Wire Industry Report, 2011

Magnetic wire is one of the key accessories of numerous electrical and electronic products such as transformer, electric motor, air conditioning/ refrigerator compressor and relay, and China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of magnetic wire, with enameled wire as the leading product in the industry at present.
In 2009, the output of magnetic wire in China achieved 1.15 million tons, and the figure rose to above 1.26 million tons in 2010. During 2011-2015, the production and sales of magnetic wire will present a rising trend, and in 2015, the production scale is expected to hit around 1.5 million tons to 1.6 million tons.

As a perfect competition sector, there are a large number of producers in the magnetic wire industry of China, but with production capacity comparatively dispersed. JINGDA, Citychamp Dartong, Roshow Technology, Ronsen Super Micro-Wire are the key companies with the competitive edge in their respective market segments.
As the largest manufacturer of magnetic wire in China, the annual capacity of JINGDA reached 156 kilotons in 2010, with powerfully competitive advantages in key market segments like conventional copper enameled wire and micro electronic wire. In the field of the magnetic wire used for refrigerating compressor in China, it ranked first with a 35% market share.
Citychamp Dartong specializes in manufacturing enameled wire products (above grade F). With two production bases in Mawei, Fuzhou and Huai’an, Jiangsu, its aggregate annual capacity can foot up to 75 kilotons, wherein the former is a special enameled wire production base with the largest production scale and most advanced technology in Asia.
Roshow Technology is now a micro electronic wire manufacturer with the largest capacity in China, with customers including renowned household appliance, electromechanical and electronic product enterprises like Samsung Electronics, LG, Emerson, Media, Changhong, Chint, Haier and Qianjiang Refrigeration. In 2010, its annual capacity of micro electronic wire climbed up to 15.2 kilotons, and the 15-kt capacity under construction will put into production in 2014.
As the veteran producer with the advanced technologies for micro enamel wire, Guangdong Ronsen Super Micro-Wire is primarily focused on the manufacture of high-end micro enameled wires (<F0.100mm), whose capacity registered 12.925 kilotons in 2010. Relay market, from which about 40% of Ronsen’s revenue comes, is the most crucial application field for its enameled wire business; U.S.-based TYCO, the world’s largest relay manufacturer, and Xiamen Hongfa, China’s largest relay producer, are both its customers.
