Russia is now one of the top four priority markets for most vehicle manufacturers, and is very unique for telematics infrastructure and requirements. It is proposed from 2013 onwards, all new type-approved cars in Russia must be fitted with ERA GLONASS (Emergency Road Assistance based on Global Navigation Satellite System) eCall systems, and SBD predict that by 2017, almost 2.4 million telematics systems will be sold annually.
