Amesbury, MA GO Bond Rating Outlook Revised To Positive From Stable On Improving Reserves Nov 11

Abstract BOSTON (Standard & Poor's) Nov. 15, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has revised the outlook on its long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on Amesbury, Mass.' general obligation (GO) parity bonds to positive from stable due to the town's ongoing progress in improving reserves, while at the same time looking to implement certain reform measures associated with its long-term liabilities. Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'A' ratings on the bonds. The outlook is stable. 'In our view, the town has proactively managed lower state revenues and local receipts through the recession. We believe continued stable budgetary performance through this economic environment could warrant an upgrade,' said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Victor Medeiros.
