European Connectivity Sales Forecast

As Bluetooth increasingly becomes ubiquitous in the Consumer Electronics (CE) market, the pressure for vehicle manufacturers to offer Bluetooth across all vehicle segments is growing. Although the core use case for Bluetooth in the car is still hands-free calling, most vehicle manufacturers are now adding a range of complimentary functionalities such as phonebook access, SMS access and audio streaming in order to make their systems more appealing. Some vehicle manufacturers are even using Bluetooth to reduce the cost of other traditionally expensive in-car features, such as navigation and telematics.
This spreadsheet forms part of the European Connectivity Stream from SBD's 2009 Subscription package, and provides a 5-year sales forecasts for Bluetooth-enabled cars in total together with a breakdown for the various use cases that vehicle manufacturers are enabling through Bluetooth.
