Highlights:
- Total retail savings and investments balances declined sharply in 2008 and recovered strongly in 2009 and 2010. Another decline is expected in 2011 and weaker growth, than previously expected, is predicted for to 2015.
- At European level, balances held in deposits and bonds have grown over the last five years, while those held in equities and mutual funds have dipped.
- The retail savings and investments market in Greece is expected to decline in size (measured by balances) over the next five years, but positive growth is forecast for all the other 15 markets through to 2015.
