Coal tar market research in Russia/CIS (Russian Version)

INFOMINE Research Group, August 2010, Pages: 73

The report is devoted to the investigation of the current standing of coal tar markets in CIS countries, including forecasts of market development. The report consists of 5 Sections incorporating 75 pages, 20 Figures, 30 Tables and Appendix.

The first section of the report presents information on the technology of production and processing of coal tar. The section also analyzes the standing of by-product coke production in CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine) and supplies of coking coal to Russian enterprises.

The second section of the report is devoted to production of coal tar in CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan) in 1999-2009. The section also presents statistics of coal tar production by CIS enterprises, as well as data on the quality of manufactured products. In addition, this chapter profiles 11 leading producers of coal tar in CIS (production, consumption, export activity).

The third section of the report presents data on foreign trade in Russia and Ukraine of coal tar for 1997-2009, and that of Kazakhstan for 2006-2009; including data on volumes of exports and imports, destinations of supplies, basic exporters and importers (Russia, Ukraine).

The fourth section provides data on export-import prices of coal tar in Russia and Ukraine (1999-2009), as well as selective data on domestic prices of coal tar in Russia.

The fifth section of the report analyses consumption of coal tar in CIS (Russia, Ukraine). It examines the supply-demand balance of coal tar in Russia and Ukraine and the pattern of consumption of coal tar in Russia (2004-2009). This section also profiles the greatest company-consumers and end-uses of coal tar in Russia and Ukraine.

The conclusion features forecasts of production and consumption of coal tar in Russia and Ukraine up to 2015.

The Appendix presents addresses and contact information for the main company-producers of coal tar in the CIS.

This study is the result of desk-based research. Information sources include Rosstat - the Inter-State Committee on Statistics of CIS countries, the Federal Customs Service of Russia, official domestic railage statistic of JSC RZhD (former Ministry of Railway Transport of Russia), the State Statistic and Customs Services of Ukraine, the Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan, InfoMine's own database, sectoral (industrial) and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as data from websites of producers of carbon black. The analyzed and summarized data was then verified and refined by way of selective telephone interviews of representatives of the main players in the market and industry experts.
