Coal Pitch Market Research in CIS (Russian Version)

This report is devoted to investigation of the current standing of the coal pitch market in CIS countries and a forecast of its development. The report consists of six Sections, comprising 84 pages, 30 Figures, 38 Tables and 2 Appendices.
The first section of the report presents analysis of coke and by-product production in CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine), including data on resources, requirements for production of pitch and their characteristics. In addition, the section describes in detail the methods and features of obtaining pitch.
The second section of the report is devoted to production of pitch in CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan). It provides statistical and estimated data of volumes of production in 1994-2009 by CIS enterprises. In addition, a part of the section is devoted to describing the current standing of the main producers of pitch in the CIS, including data on their supplies.
The third section of the report presents data on foreign trade of coal pitch in Russia (1994-2009), Ukraine (1999-2009) and Kazakhstan (1995-2009).
The fourth section of the report presents information on current domestic prices of pitch at Russian market, as well as analysis of export-import prices in Russia (1994-2009) and Ukraine (2001-2009).
The fifth section of the report analyses consumption of pitch in Russia. It presents a supply-demand balance of pitch (1994-2009), sectoral structure of their consumption, and the main Russian consumers (including their volumes of consumption in 2003-09), as well as describing the current standing and prospects of development for the greatest enterprise-consumers (aluminium and electrode plants).
The sixth and final section of the report forecasts the production of pitch in Russia and Ukraine, as well as forecasting consumption of pitch in Russia up to 2010.
The Appendices present contact information for producers and consumers of pitch in the CIS.
This work is a desk-based study. Information sources include Rosstat - Inter-State Committee on Statistics of CIS countries, the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the official domestic railage statistics of JSC RZhD (former Ministry of Railway Transport of Russia), the sectoral (industrial) and regional press, annual and quarterly reports of companies, as well as data from websites of company-producers and consumers of coal pitch.
