Evans Data report that looks at the overall packages and offerings by top cloud service providers and takes a comparative approach to examining the features of comprehensive cloud services (whether these are infrastructure, platform or software services), in order to show which companies are providing the best package of products and services for companies or developers who wish to develop and/or deploy their applications in the Cloud.
Evans Data Corp. conducted a worldwide study of developers who develop on, or deploy their applications to the Cloud. We asked developers to indicate which cloud services they have used. Users of particular cloud services were asked to rank features of those services. Only those developers who were familiar with those particular providers, or services rated them.
Developers were asked to rank fourteen different attributes found in each cloud service that they use. For each attribute, respondents were asked to rate how they perceived the cloud service performed for that given category. Possible answers include 'Excellent', 'Very good', 'Mediocre', or 'Needs improvement'. The answers were assigned positive and negative values which were then combined to produce a score for each feature and also for an overall ranking score. The relative values for each element ranked are displayed in graphs throughout this report with the same scale, so that comparisons between the graphs can be made. The numbers that are displayed show relative values.
