AMA Research are pleased to announce the publication of the 1st edition of the report: “Regional Commercial and Industrial Waste Management Market Report - UK 2011-2015 Analysis”. Containing nearly 100 pages and over 75 charts and tables, this report provides an assessment of C & I waste arisings and management at both national and regional levels.
In the last decade the focus of government and the waste management industry had been on reducing the amount of household waste being landfilled and increasing the amount being recovered and recycled. Following the 2011 publication of the second DEFRA report on C & I waste management there is to be an increased drive to reduce the landfilling of C & I waste and increase recycling levels.
As well as a UK overview, there are individual chapters on each of the 9 regions in England plus Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each section comprises a brief profile of the regions economies; waste arisings by economic sector and by waste types; methods of C & I waste; dry waste and food waste recycling infrastructure and identification of leading contractors in each region.
This report pulls together national & regional surveys on C & I waste arisings and management plus a large amount of original input, with the focus primarily on C & I waste arisings and management in the regions. The aim of this report is to go beyond analysis at a UK level to highlight the marked differences between the regions re: their economic infrastructure and hence the variations in the mix of waste arisings. Moreover, while national contractors dominate the MSW / household waste market, the C & I waste management sector is considerably more fragmented.
Because of the need to reduce landfilling C & I waste and increase recycling, a key focus of the regional sections is on dry waste and food waste treatment, identifying current and planned MRF and anaerobic digestion capacity.
