Ethylene oxide (EO) is produced by direct oxidation of ethylene at room temperature. EO is critical raw material for ethylene glycol which is used in various applications like PET bottles ,detergents, solvents and paints. Ethylene Glycol's estimated 85% of output is used in PET bottle manufacturing. According to estimates about 65% of EO production goes into production of ethylene glycol followed by ethoxylates with 13%.Pure ethylene oxide is also pure disinfectant which is used in hospitals.
