This report focuses on the investigation of the coal market in Russia. It consists of four chapters, containing 130 pages and including 9 figures, 6 Tables, and Appendix.
This work is a desk-based study. Information sources include The Long-Term Program for Development of Russian Coal Industry up to 2030, which was developed in accordance with the Protocol of meeting at the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin on June 24, 2010 ? VP-P9-35 pr (Novokuznetsk), item 12.
In the first chapter, the report presents data on resources of coal in Russia.
The second chapter is devoted to the current situation of the Russian coal industry, including data on the volume of coal production, the work of individual companies, foreign trade in coal, and investments in the sector.
The third chapter describes the main research projects to develop coal deposits in Eastern Siberia and the Far East and implementation of projects on railway network development in the course of coal project implementation, including the development of the Elga and the Ulug-Khem coal fields and Apsat deposit.
In the fourth chapter of the report the prospects of the Russian coal industry are discussed, and key program documents relevant to approved development of the coal industry are analyzed. The structure and amount of investment in The Long-Term Program for Development of Russian Coal Industry up to 2030 is presented, and current and future demand for Russian coal is evaluated.
The Appendix provides the text of The Long-Term Program for Development of Russian Coal Industry up to 2030, which defines coal industry development in the long term.
