E-learning course: Personal Information Protection Training

Overview
With increasing use of Personal Information by Corporations in advanced information societies, governments and regulatory agencies have enacted laws that aim to protect the individual’s rights and economic interests against violation of the individual’s privacy.
The laws lay down stringent guidelines on obtaining, storing, transferring, using, destroying and deleting and protecting the information by organizations. Under such laws, the organizations are obliged to implement people security measures, supervise employees and verify that employees are adhering to established security measures. With such privacy laws coming into force, organizations are faced with the need to not only effectively and efficiently set up processes but also train their employees on such laws, obligations, and the consequences of non-compliance.

In the Demo module one can notice that the scenario in use is built for the Japanese market. The Resources button on the top left corner will open up the FAQs section where the learner can gather information on the laws and about personal information protection. When needed, the scenarios can be modified to suit a particular industry, geography or company thereby providing an organization with E-Learning materials as quickly as possible.

The Challenge
To help protect the personal information of their customers and to ensure that the employees confirm and comply to the new regulations as defined by the Personal Information Protection Act, one large multinational investment bank needed to train their employees across the world on the various facets of the PIPA. They also wanted to ensure that the employees understood the nuances of the act and are able to clearly understand what constitutes as personal information and what they could or could not do with that information.
The Solution
