Hydrogen Production, Market and Forecast in Russia (Russian Version)
INFOMINE Research Group, June 2011, Pages: 168
This study focuses on the hydrogen market in Russia. The report consists of 7 Sections and contains 168 pages including 15 Figures, 57 Tables, and Appendices.
Methodologically, the work was done in two stages: desk-based research and field activities. In the first phase multiple sources of information were analyzed, including: Russia - the Federal State Statistics Service (FSSS RF), companies, InfoMine database, media and the Internet.
In the second stage the aggregated data was verified and refined through telephone surveys and personal interviews with specialists of the companies profiled in this report.
From 2010 the FSSS RF collects data on the production of hydrogen. However, this data does not reflect real production, as most of companies do not report the data. Total production of hydrogen can be estimated only by indirect indicators related to production of such compounds as ammonia, methanol, petrochemicals, data on oil refining, hydrogen consumption in metallurgy, glass manufacture and other industries.
The structure of this report is as follows:
The introduction discusses the physical and chemical properties of hydrogen.
Chapter I is devoted to the technologies of hydrogen production. It discusses ways to produce hydrogen, equipment for its production, and developers and vendors of the necessary equipment (Russian and foreign).
Chapter II describes hydrogen production in Russia. This section contains qualitative data on production output. The characteristics of the few companies that produce hydrogen for supply to domestic market, i. e. marketable hydrogen, is given, and also specialized gas companies involved in the sale of hydrogen are described.
In Chapter III the price structure for hydrogen - the cost of production, transport and storage - is discussed. The prices of suppliers of hydrogen are given here.
Chapter IV is devoted to consumption of hydrogen in Russia. It examines the scope and structure of the consumption of hydrogen. This chapter presents the summary tables in terms of hydrogen consumption over the last seven years (2004-2010) by industry and enterprise, as well as a description of the hydrogen projects currently being implemented in Russian companies.
Foreign trade in hydrogen is practically absent owing to practical lack of hydrogen pipeline network. There are only small supplies of gaseous hydrogen in cylinders that have no appreciable effect on the domestic market. Therefore, there is no section on export-import of hydrogen in this report.
Chapters V and VI are devoted to issues of transportation and storage of hydrogen.
Chapter VII presents a forecast of production and consumption of hydrogen in Russia up to 2015.
