Comparative Homeland Security: Global Lessons
John Wiley and Sons Ltd, Nov 2011, Pages: 400
The book is broken down into topical categories reflecting some of the major areas within the field of Homeland Security (HS). Within each of these fields, there is a discussion of strategic policies followed by a set of countries in the context of that particular field. The goal of this book is twofold. Firstly, to raise awareness amongst students and practitioners of HS that there is a universe of HS challenges and solutions that exist outside US borders. Secondly, the book is designed to expose students and practitioners of HS to policies and practices being followed overseas in order to help suggest solutions for HS problems that they may be grappling with at present or in the future.
Sections include:
- National strategies - Civil liberties issues - Border security and immigration - Emergency response.
