The Pioneer Natural Resources Company is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the US and South Africa. It primarily holds interests in the Spraberry oil field, located in West Texas, the Raton gas field located in southern Colorado, the Hugoton gas field located in southwest Kansas, and the West Panhandle gas field located in the Texas Panhandle.As of December 31, 2010, the company had proved undeveloped and developed reserves of approximately 219 MMbbl of crude oil, 79 MMbbl of natural gas liquids (NGLs), and 991bcf of natural gas.Headquartered in Irving, Texas, Pioneer has 9,129 net productive wells with 99% of concentration being in the US. The company’s total production in 2010 was 41.9 MMboe, the majority of which was contributed by natural gas (53.4%), followed by crude oil (29.4%), with the rest being NGL.
