? Cigarettes in Poland remain highly influenced by legislation changes. In January 2010 as well as in January 2011 the taxes on cigarettes were again increased by the government. In 2010 the new excise tax included a fixed tax of PLN146.83 per 1,000 sticks (PLN138.50 per 1,000 sticks in 2009) and an ad valorem excise of 31.41% (unchanged from 2009).
