Abstract
The ratings on U.S. pulp producer Koch Cellulose LLC reflect limited operating diversity, customer concentration, lack of fiber integration, and participation in a cyclical, capital-intensive industry with rising low-cost overseas capacity. Ratings also reflect a good cost position and the capacity to increase higher-margin fluff pulp sales. Koch Cellulose is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc. (Koch), one of the largest, diversified, privately held companies in the U.S. However, Koch Cellulose is operated on a stand-alone basis with a separate board of directors and independent financing arrangements.
