Abstract The 'AAA' sovereign rating on the United Kingdom is a key strength for the U.K. life insurance sector. That said, economic and financial market risks remain elevated and are likely to weigh on the prospects for the sector over the rating horizon. We believe the sector has the ability to withstand the current economic conditions. Insurers have maintained their capital positions by changing their business models and attitudes to risk.
