Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services believes the outlook for credit quality in the U.S. midstream energy sector (pipelines, storage, processing) for the rest 2011 is stable even as the general economy is showing signs of slowing down. Crude oil prices remain robust due to limited spare global capacity, and natural gas liquids (NGL) prices remain high. Midstream companies continue to focus on adding additional fee-based services, and liquidity is good. However, natural gas prices remain low and transportation rates in some areas of the country are under pressure.
