Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' rating, and stable outlook, to Greenville County, S.C.'s series 2010A and 2010B general obligation (GO) bonds and affirmed its 'AAA' rating, with a stable outlook, on the county's existing GO debt. The rating reflects the county's: Strong and diversifying local economy that has remained stable during the recession, Continued maintenance of sound financial operations and strong financial position, and Favorable overall debt position with modest additional capital needs. The county's full faith and credit pledge secures the bonds. Officials plan to use bond proceeds to fund capital equipment purchases for the Fountain Inn Fire Service Area (2010A) and Tigerville Fire District (2010B) and refund the district's GO bonds outstanding, issued for Tigerville,...
