Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' rating and stable outlook to Greenville County, S.C.'s series 2011D general obligation (GO) refunding bonds and affirmed its 'AAA' rating, with a stable outlook, on the county's existing GO debt. The rating reflects our opinion of the county's: Strong and diverse local economy that continues to grow despite the national recession; Continued maintenance of, what we consider, sound operations and strong finances; and Favorable overall debt with, what we regard as, modest additional capital needs. The county's full-faith-and-credit pledge secures the bonds. Officials plan to use bond proceeds to advance refund a portion of the county's series 2002 and 2005 GO bonds.
