Abstract The 'AAA' rating on Baltimore County Metropolitan District, Md.'s BANs and GO bonds, issued for Baltimore County, reflects: A deep and diverse economic base; A large and diverse tax base, along with ongoing healthy tax base growth; Strong financial performance; A significant, yet manageable, six-year capital improvement program (CIP) totaling $1.4 billion; and A moderate debt burden, along with satisfactory amortization of outstanding principal. The bonds are secured by the county's full faith and credit GO pledge. The BANs are variable rate based on an auction rate that matures Oct. 4, 2035.
