Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'A' long-term rating to Mason County Community Unit School District No. 126 (Havana), Ill.'s series 2011B taxable general obligation (GO) debt certificates (limited-tax). At the same time, we assigned our 'A+' issuer credit rating (ICR) to the district. The rating on the debt certificates is one notch lower than the ICR because of the limited nature of the security. The outlook on both ratings is stable. The ratings reflect our view of the district's: Adequate income levels and market value per capita; Very strong reserve levels, albeit on a cash basis of accounting; and Low debt burden as a percentage of market value.
