The 'AA' long-term rating assigned to Cumberland County, N.C.'s series 2010A and 2010B limited obligation bonds and the 'AA' ratings on the county's previously issued appropriation-backed debt reflect Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' view of: The general creditworthiness of the county, The county's demonstrated commitment to repaying its appropriation-backed obligations, and The strong state oversight provided by the North Carolina Local Government Commission.
