Bulletin: Key Swedish Utilities Unaffected By Storm Jan 07

Abstract STOCKHOLM (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 17, 2007--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that the ratings on E.ON Sverige AB (A/Stable/A-1), Fortum Oyj (A-/Stable/A-2) and Vattenfall AB (A-/Stable/A-2) are not affected by a major storm that affected Sweden early in the week, cutting power supplies to about 210,000 users. The ratings on regional utilities Tekniska Verken AB (A-/Stable/A-2) and Lunds Energi AB (BBB+/Stable/A-2) are also unaffected, as the impact is reported to be minor. The storm, named Per, is thought to have caused less technical damage than a previous major storm, named Gudrun, that affected Sweden and Denmark in 2005. It is difficult to estimate the total costs at this stage, however, as compensation requirements for undelivered electricity have increased...
