Abstract
LONDON (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Feb. 11, 2000--Following National Westminster Bank PLC's (NatWest) acceptance of Royal Bank of Scotland PLC's (RBS) bid to acquire NatWest and its rejection of the rival bid from Bank of Scotland (BoS), Standard & Poor's today reviewed its ratings on these three groups. (See list below for all rating actions.) The long-term counterparty credit ratings on NatWest, Ulster Bank Ltd. (Ulster Bank), and Ulster Bank Finance PLC remain on CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed on Sept. 24, 1999. The ratings on RBS and its related entities remain on CreditWatch with positive implications, where they were placed on Nov. 30, 1999.
