Banco Santander-Chile S.A. Upcoming Senior Unsecured Short-Term Notes Rated 'A-1' Nov 11

Abstract BUENOS AIRES (Standard & Poor's) Nov. 23, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it assigned its 'A-1' short-term senior unsecured debt rating to Banco Santander Chile S.A.'s (A+/Negative/A-1) upcoming 144A/Regulation S $100 million to $150 million senior unsecured floating-rate notes due in May 2012. The rating on the notes is the same as the short-term counterparty credit rating on Banco Santander Chile S.A., which reflects that the notes will rank pari passu with other senior unsecured debt. The bank will use the proceeds mainly to fund its lending activities. The ratings on Banco Santander Chile S.A. reflect the bank's leading position in the Chilean banking industry, good balance of business between companies and individuals, and sound financial risk...
