Automaker VW Outlook Revised To Stable On Strong Operating Performance And Improved Credit Metrics; Affirmed At 'A-/A-2' Aug 11

Abstract German automaker VW's credit ratios have improved substantially since the severe automotive and truck crisis in 2009. We are revising our outlook on VW to stable from negative and affirming our ratings on the company at 'A-/A-2'. The stable outlook reflects our opinion that VW should be able maintain credit metrics commensurate with its 'A-' rating, even taking into account the integration of MAN and Porsche, and even if trading conditions weaken in the coming quarters.
