Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' ratings on Scottsdale, Ariz.-based RSC Equipment Rental Inc. reflect our assessment of its "aggressive" financial risk profile (as our criteria define the term), which more than offsets its position as one of the largest providers of construction equipment rentals. Although RSC operates in the cyclical, highly competitive, and fragmented equipment rental sector, we believe it has good geographic, product, and customer diversity including stable industrial customers; a well-maintained and relatively young fleet; and good free cash flow despite the weakness in its less-core construction-related end markets.
