Abstract
The Republic of Mozambique benefits from a track record of good macroeconomic management, favorable growth prospects, a rapidly growing mining sector, and very strong donor support. The rating is constrained by the country's very low GDP per capita (even when compared to peers) as well as a history of price-rise-related social unrest and significant development challenges. We are affirming the 'B+/B' foreign- and local-currency sovereign credit ratings on the Republic of Mozambique. The stable outlook balances our view that we expect donor support will continue to support fiscal and external performance, strong growth will continue, and that the political situation will remain broadly stable.
