Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' rating to Henderson, Nev.'s $56 million GO bonds, series 2005D, and affirmed its 'AA' rating on the city's GO bonds. The rating reflects: The diverse and largely residential character of the city, with income and wealth levels well above regional and national levels; Strong financial performance, aided by regional growth patterns; and A moderate debt level in relation to the city's property tax base. The above strengths are offset somewhat by the Southern Nevada economy and its overwhelming dependence on casino gaming and tourism.
