Abstract
We are updating our recovery analysis on Indianapolis, Ind.-based automatic transmission systems provider Allison Transmission Inc., in conjunction with our upgrade of its corporate credit rating and our raising of the issue-level rating on its senior secured debt and senior unsecured notes. Our recovery ratings remain unchanged. Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' simulated default scenario contemplates a payment default in 2014, stemming from a cyclical downturn in North American commercial and off-highway-vehicle demand that persists through 2014, reflecting a weak economy and depressed freight volumes. We believe that Allison would reorganize in the event of a default, given its strong market position and established customer base, along with our expectation of continued demand for its products.
