Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' rating, to League City, Texas' series 2011 combination tax and revenue certificates of obligation and affirmed its underlying rating (SPUR) of 'AA' on the city's outstanding GO debt. The outlook on both ratings is stable. The ratings reflect our view of the city's: Healthy property tax base, coupled with a stable economy, due to its participation in the deep and diverse Houston area economy despite its slowdown in economic development activity due to the economic downturn; Very strong wealth and income levels; Historically very strong financial position with high general fund balances; and Good financial management practices.
