Research Update: eBay Inc. Corporate Credit Rating Raised To 'A' Based On Its Strong Performance; Outlook Stable Mar 10

Abstract U.S. Internet e-commerce and payment company eBay's solid operational performance has resulted in further strengthened credit measures. We are raising our corporate credit rating on eBay to `A' from `A-'. The stable outlook reflects our expectation that eBay will benefit from its leadership position in e-commerce and associated payment offerings. On March 2, 2010, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its corporate credit rating on San Jose, Calif.-based Internet e-commerce and payment company eBay Inc. to 'A' from 'A-'. The outlook is stable. The upgrade reflects the company's strong performance during a particularly challenging retail and economic environment, and further enhancement of its already strong credit protection profile.
