Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Dec. 15, 2011--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the $124.3 million series 2010, 2009, and 2007 revenue bonds originally issued by Fulton County Development Authority, Ga. for Catholic Health East. A newly formed joint venture (Emory/St. Joseph's Inc.) between St. Joseph's Hospital System and Emory Healthcare is assuming this debt. The bonds will be further supported by a guaranty from Emory University. In addition, Standard & Poor's has affirmed its 'AA' and 'AA/A-1+' ratings on debt issued by the Private Colleges & Universities Authority, Ga. and DeKalb County Development Authority, Ga. for Emory University, and 'A-1+' short-term rating on debt issued for and by Emory University.
