Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to North Brunswick Township, N.J.'s $14.5 million general obligation (GO) bond anticipation notes (BANs). At the same time, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the township's $18.2 million series 2009 GO bonds. The outlook is stable. The 'SP-1+' rating reflects our opinion of the township's: History of good market access; and General creditworthiness. The 'AA' rating reflects our view of the township's: Diverse local economy with additional access to the New York City metropolitan statistical area (MSA); Sizable tax base with very strong wealth and income levels; Very strong financial position but with plans to use current fund balance for capital projects; and Moderate overall net debt...
