Abstract
TORONTO (Standard & Poor's) Nov. 16, 2005--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services today said it assigned its 'A+' senior unsecured debt rating to Sun Life Financial Inc.'s (Sun Life Financial; A+/Positive /A-1; TSX: SLF-T; NYSE: SLF-N) proposed series A senior unsecured fixed-floater debenture issuance of up to C$600 million due 2035. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed the existing ratings on Toronto-based Sun Life Financial and its primary insurance operating companies, collectively known as Sun Life: Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada (AA+/Stable/A-1+), Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada (U.S.) (AA+/Stable/--), and Sun Life Insurance & Annuity Co. of New York (AA+/Stable/--).
