Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'BBB' long-term rating to Denver Health and Hospital Authority (DHHA), Colo.'s series 2010 hospital recovery zone facility bonds. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'BBB' long-term rating on DHHA's outstanding debt. The outlook is stable. We consider DHHA's business position as an essential public provider of unique services and its improved operations considerable credit strengths. However, cuts in governmental funding are a credit concern, given the tightening operating margins. Other factors supporting the rating include our view of DHHA's: Strong public essentiality as the county's safety net provider and consistent funding support from the City and County of Denver ('AAA' general obligation rating), as well as support from the state...
