Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AA' long-term rating to the Village of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.' series 2012 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds and affirmed its 'AA' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR) on the village's existing GO debt. The outlook is stable. The ratings reflect our assessment of the village's: Participation in the Chicago, Ill. and Milwaukee, Wis. deep and diverse regional economies; Very strong income levels and extremely strong market value per capita; and Very strong reserves. In our view, the village's high debt burden on a per capita basis and high debt service carrying charges partially offset the above strengths. The village's GO pledge secures the bonds.
