Agence Francaise de Developpement 'AAA/A-1+' Ratings Affirmed; Outlook Stable Sep 02

Abstract PARIS (Standard & Poor's) Sept. 4, 2002--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has affirmed its triple-'A' long-term and 'A-1'-plus short-term issuer credit ratings on Agence Fran-aise de D-veloppement (AFD), the principal instrument for French bilateral aid and concessionary lending to developing countries and to French overseas departments and territories. The outlook is stable. 'The affirmation is based on Standard & Poor's expectation that the French government will maintain its strong involvement with AFD, while the ratings reflect the ultimate statutory guarantee of the Republic of France (AAA/Stable/A-1+) on all of AFD's obligations,' said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Alexandre de Lestrange.
