Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 8, 2002--Standard & Poor's today assigned its double-'A' rating to Wichita, Kan.'s $6.39 million GO bonds series 768 due to Sept. 1, 2017 and to the city's $9.67 million GO bonds series 769 due June 1, 2012 and $46 million GO sales tax bonds series 2002 due April 1, 2017. In addition, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'SP1'-plus rating to the city's $53.355 million GO renewal and improvement temporary notes due Aug. 22, 2002. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its double-'A' and 'SP1'-plus rating on the city's GO bonds and notes outstanding, respectively.
