Abstract
General Motors Financial Co. Inc.'s role as a financier for the customers of its ultimate parent company, General Motors Co., is growing, and its stand-alone financial performance is improving. We are raising the long-term issuer credit rating on GM Financial to 'BB' from 'B+' and removing it from CreditWatch positive. The outlook is stable, reflecting our view that it's unlikely we will raise the ratings on GM Financial to the same level as those on its parent in the next 12 months. On Jan. 5, 2012, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services raised its long-term issuer credit rating on General Motors Financial Co. Inc. (GM Financial) to 'BB' from 'B+'.
