Bulletin: Celulosa Arauco y Constituci?n S.A. Ratings Unaffected By Fire In Plywood Facility And Tree Plantations Jan 12

Abstract BUENOS AIRES (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 3, 2012--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings on Chilean forest company Celulosa Arauco y Constituci-n S.A. (ARAUCO; BBB/Stable/--) are not affected by the damage caused by a fire affecting some of the company's assets in the Bio Bio region. ARAUCO announced that the fire affected its 450,000-cubic-meter Nueva Aldea plywood facility and about 4,000 hectares of plantations. We expect these damages to have a limited impact on the company's profits and cash flow; therefore, our ratings on ARAUCO remain unchanged. The plywood facility contributed $20 million to $40 million in EBITDA annually, depending on prices and margins, and the company owns more than 730,000 hectares of forestry land in Chile....
