Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Jan. 9, 2012--Standard & Poor's investment-grade composite spread narrowed by 1 basis point (bp) to 222 bps on Friday, and the speculative-grade composite spread narrowed by 12 bps to 695 bps. By rating, the 'AA' spread narrowed by 13 bps to 132 bps, 'A' tightened by 24 bps to 172 bps, and 'BBB' contracted by 17 bps to 265 bps. The 'BB' spread tightened by 2 bps to 494 bps, 'B' tightened by 17 bps to 736 bps, and 'CCC' expanded by 14 bps to 1,191 bps. The investment-grade and speculative-grade spreads are both down from their highs reached in October. The investment-grade spread is above its one-year moving average of 188 bps and below...
