Abstract
NEW YORK (Standard & Poor's) Oct. 9, 2001--Standard & Poor's today assigned its double-'A' rating to Rutherford County, Tenn.'s $30.61 million GO school and public improvement bonds series 2001 due April 1, 2021. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its double-'A' rating on the county's outstanding GO debt. The rating reflects the county's full faith and credit pledge. In addition, the rating also reflects the county's: -- Growing manufacturing-based economy characterized by high employment levels, -- Strong financial performance, and -- Moderate debt burden. These strengths are somewhat offset by the county's significant growth-related capital plans.
