Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA+' long-term rating, and stable outlook, to Rutherford County, Tenn.'s series 2009 general obligation (GO) bonds. At the same time, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'SP-1+' short-term rating to the county's capital outlay note series 2009. In addition, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'AA+' long-term rating and underlying rating (SPUR), with a stable outlook, on the county's parity GO debt. In our view, the short-term rating reflects the county's: Historically strong market access; GO pledge ('AA+' long-term GO debt rating); and Overall credit strength.
